The screening and performance will take place June 11 at an undisclosed location. ![]() It was announced yesterday (April 29) Kiss will perform at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival following the screening of part one of KISStory. “This documentary event is a special tribute to a one-of-a-kind band and the incredible Kiss Army fanbase that has idolized them for generations.” “Through the Biography lens we are able to give fans a backstage pass to a two-night event that honors the legacy of the rock icons behind Kiss,” said Elaine Frontain Bryant, A&E’s Head of Programming and executive producer of the documentary. It will chronicle the band’s start in New York City’s rock scene during the 70s, their rise to fame, their struggles with drugs and alcohol in the 80s, and how they ultimately fought their way back to the top of the charts in the 90s. KISStory will show original recording sessions, home movies, behind-the-scenes stories, and rare footage. The doc will also feature interviews from Dave Grohl, Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, and the band's manager Dom McGhee. Based on a press release, it’s unclear if former founding members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss were interviewed. And I'm the first to say I'm not up on a lot of them. Well, those guys are in their 50s or 60s, so you're talking about another generation of actors. The rocker continued, "When people get asked these kinds of questions, they'll say, 'Oh, Brad Pitt,' or this one or that one. Honestly, I don't know a whole lot of actors in their early 20s."
